Our 2nd Annual Biz Builder Golf Tournament fundraiser was a success thanks to the Tunica National Staff, Family Biz Builder Staff & Volunteers, Our Sponsors, Golf Players and Golf Hole Sponsors! Thank you for helping Family Biz Builder impact the lives of our community's children, youth and families through training and development programs.
Family Biz Builder is a community-based nonprofit organization in Tunica County, MS. Our mission is to expose children and youth to positive opportunities through the Biz Builder programs which focus on character development, academic achievement, leadership development, workforce readiness, and financial literacy.
We would like to thank the Allstate volunteers for being a positive force for change in our community. Gene Davis of Memphis, Vivian Thompson from Atlanta, Valerie Randolph of Smyrna, and Anthony Dean of Southaven has given their time and enabled us to receive an Allstate Foundation Helping Hands Grant. The Allstate Foundation supports the causes that the aforementioned Allstate agency owners, financial specialists, and employees care about most by providing Helping Hands Grants to nonprofits where they volunteer their time to bring out the good in the communities.
This week in the Biz Builder programs, we celebrated victories and triumphs! Our participants are breaking through barriers and reaching their goals with total support of their peers. We've also experienced an increase in parent participation.
THE BIZ BUILDER LITERACY PROGRAM. Jayla was awarded a gold certificate for achieving a 93% on her Map 1 Reading Eggs Quiz! Tyler achieved a 100% on his Map 5 Reading Eggs Quiz and was awarded a gold certificate, too!
Participants deepened their understanding of the character trait, obedience, with discussions and a short video presented by Coach Mallory and Coach Janet.
THE SPORTS AND FITNESS PROGRAM. This week, participants are in the thick of their their sports instruction. They spend their sessions honing the fundamental skills they were introduced to in their first weeks through the NJTL/ACE curriculum and NetGeneration tennis activities.
