When it comes to determination, leadership, and heart, Devin S. embodies what the Family Biz Builder Sports & Fitness NJTL Program is all about.
In July 2025, Devin took on a new challenge as a Youth Tennis Coach during the FBB Summer Camp — and he exceeded every expectation. His positive attitude, strong work ethic, and natural ability to motivate others quickly made him a favorite among the younger players. Under his guidance, campers learned more than just how to serve or rally — they learned about discipline, teamwork, and believing in themselves.
Devin’s impact as a mentor showed what happens when young people are given the chance to lead: they don’t just grow — they help others grow too.
Leading by Example
Devin didn’t just teach tennis this summer — he lived it. After summer camp ended, he continued to compete across the state, demonstrating the same focus and sportsmanship he modeled for his students.
On Saturday, September 13, 2025, Devin competed at the Snowden Level 6 Tournament in Southaven, MS — and won his opening matches, earning a spot in the semi-finals and finals the following day.
Community support poured in as FBB families cheered him on. “If you’re able to come support Devin, he would love it,” one message read — capturing the family atmosphere that defines the FBB community.

A Season of Growth and Victory
This summer, Devin joined the Battlefield Chargers Junior Team Tennis (JTT) team under the leadership of Coach LaPeriall Jones, seeking more match experience and competitive play.
Each week, Devin traveled to Jackson, Mississippi, where he consistently brought home victories. His dedication led the team all the way to the JTT State Championship on August 2–3, 2025. While the team didn’t win the overall title, Devin remained undefeated in all of his matches, proving that consistency and perseverance pay off.

Finishing Strong
On Sunday, September 14, 2025, Devin competed in the final round of the Snowden tournament and finished second place in the Level 6 12-and-under division — an incredible accomplishment in a highly competitive bracket.
After the match, Devin’s commitment and effort were clear in the simplest way: he fell asleep before the 10-minute drive home — completely exhausted, but completely fulfilled.
That moment summed it all up: hard work, heart, and humility.

A Role Model in Motion
Devin’s journey reminds us that leadership isn’t just about titles — it’s about attitude. Whether mentoring younger players or competing for a state title, Devin shows what it means to combine talent, responsibility, and character.
He’s proof that Family Biz Builder’s mission — to empower youth through education, mentorship, and sports — continues to grow leaders who make an impact both on and off the court.
